Academic Session of MBBS courses in Russia

The duration of the prescribed courses at medical universities in Russia varies according to the pattern of studying. There are 3 types of universities according to which the courses vary from 6+ years to 7+ years. For English medium universities, the course duration of the MBBS course is 6+ years. This includes one year of internship. For bilingual or full-time Russian medium universities, the course duration of MBBS degree is 7+ years including one year of internship and one year for learning the Russian language.
Russian medical universities usually start their academic session from September. The session for MBBS students generally starts from the 1st of October. (but it can also vary due to certain factors).


Even though the medical education is in English in some universities, the majority of the population in Russia don't speak Russian. Hence you would have to learn the Russian language.
