Yerevan
State Medical University established in the year 1920 as a faculty and established as an
independent Institution in 1930. Yerevan State
Medical University is one of the leading government university
in Eastern Europe. The University has enrolled in the Directory of Higher Medical
Institutions embraced by the World Health Organization (WHO). It was recognized
by WHO, MCI, and many more international professional groups. Yerevan State
Medical University has formed into a huge scale, a well-managed
comprehensive university with good teaching staff. It is one of those
universities which is having an advanced system of education, and it trains
students with the help of updated education technology of medical study. The

Yerevan
State Medical University is offering a low-cost medicine program. The university is
preparing doctors for near countries, and far abroad. Yerevan State Medical
University is a member of the International Association of Universities,

relations, students exchange programs, probation period abroad, participation
in grant programs under the aegis of UNESCO joint research work and
conferences.
YSMU set up direct partnerships in
the form of extensive cooperation with around 30 universities around the world.
In almost a century-long existence the University has trained over 30,000
doctors. Currently, more than 162 Doctor of Sciences and 481 Ph.D. degree
holders constitute the University faculty of 1100 Professors.
Over 7000 future doctors currently
study at the University. 24% of these students are foreign students from 26
nations all over the globe. These countries include the United States, Russia,
Germany, India, Israel, Canada, Iran, Iraq, Georgia, Great Britain, Greece,
Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Venezuela, Syria, Singapore, Australia, Poland,
Sweden, China, France, Jordan, Cyprus, Lebanon, and Sri Lanka.
