V. N. Karazina National University was
established in 1804. The opening ceremony was held on 29 January 1805. It is
one of the oldest universities in Eastern Europe.
The university is providing the best
infrastructure for its students and the quality facilities like good and
spacious hostels, libraries, modern classrooms, etc. Moreover, the university
is providing a healthy and friendly environment on the campus for its students.
The institute has various other activity centers in the campus like gym,
separate sports complex, etc. The University believes in the overall
development of every student and thus organizes various personality development
programs such as Seminars, Debates, Conferences and Student Exchange programs.
Apart from personality development programs, the University organizes various
sports and cultural events and also encourages students to partake in these
activities.
V. N. Karazina National University is one of
the best medical universities in Ukraine for global students to study medicine
in Ukraine. The degree of MBBS of KNMU is esteemed and it is recognized
everywhere throughout the world. Since its establishment, the University has
graduated more than 130,000 students. The names of the University graduates are
remembered in topographical names, names of space objects, plants and minerals,
laws, and formulae. Just about 60 University graduates have become academicians
and corresponding members from the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences
(UNAS).
Today, the university has 21 Schools i.e.
the School of Biology, the School of Physics and Technology, the School of
Radio Physics, the School of Physics, the School of Computer Sciences, the
School of Philosophy, the School of Mechanical Engineering, the School of
Geology and Geography, the School of Economics, the School of Foreign
Languages, the School of History, the School of Philology, the School of
Fundamental Medicine, the School of Chemistry, the School of Sociology, the
School of Psychology, the School of Law, the School of International Economic
Relations and Tourism, the School of Further Education and Retraining, and the
School of Physics and Energy. The last was sorted out together with the UNAS (Ukrainian
National Academy of Sciences) Institute of Mechanical Engineering.
The total University enrolment, including
the students of the Center for Professional Education and the Center for
Training International Students, amounts to around 12,000 undergraduate and
graduate students and about 400 postgraduate students. The University employs around
1,500 faculty and research staff, including over 200 doctors of sciences, full
professors, and almost 800 PhDs, associate professors.
The University flaunts its world wide acknowledgement
as one of the initiators of signing the Magna Charta Universitatum (Bologna,
1998), a co-founder of the Eurasian Universities Association, an active member
of International Association of Universities and European University Association,
a training center for about 1500 international students, postgraduate and
doctorate students for 50 nations of the world, and a partner in research and
educational cooperation with over 100 universities and other associations all
over the globe.
