North
Sichuan Medical College is a general medical college of Sichuan Province, formerly
known as the Southwest Sichuan Medical College in 1951. In 1965, it was
upgraded to a junior college and named Nanchong Medical College. In 1985, he
was upgraded to a bachelor's degree and named the Sichuan Medical College. In
1997, it passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment organized
by the former State Education Commission. In 2006, it was approved by the
State Council Degree Committee as a master's degree awarding unit. It is a
public (government) university. North Sichuan Medical University is one
of the biggest medical university in China. It recognized by WHO, MCI, and many
more international professional groups. North Sichuan Medical University
has formed into a huge scale, a well-managed comprehensive university with good
teaching staff. The university has 2 campuses (West campus or Old campus, East
campus or New campus) which is covering an area of about 200 hectares. The
universities are having a favorable environment and beautiful landscape which
makes it a great place for research and learning. It is one of those
universities which is having an advanced system of education, and it trains
students with the help of updated education technology of medical study. The
university embraces the high-tech methods of practical medicine that empower
students to be focused, competitive and flexible in the world market.
The
university is providing the best infrastructure for its students and the
quality facilities like good and spacious hostels, libraries, modern
classrooms, etc. Moreover, the university is providing a healthy and friendly
environment on the campus for its students. The institute has various other
activity centers in the campus like gym, separate sports complex, etc. The
University believes in the overall development of every student and thus
organizes various personality development programs such as Seminars, Debates,
Conferences and Student Exchange programs. Apart from personality development
programs, the University organizes various sports and cultural events and also
encourages students to partake in these activities.
North
Sichuan Medical University is offering a low-cost medicine program. The university is
preparing doctors for near countries, and far abroad. In the year 2005, the
university started recruiting foreign students and in 2006 was granted
authority to grant Master’s Degrees. Today the university has about 16,000
full-time students, among them, 14,274 undergraduate students, 612 graduate
students, 310 overseas students, and 2,080 continuing-education students, which
shapes the foundation of the university. The university has more than 1,000
full-time professors, among whom over 800 have a doctorate or graduate degree.
In addition, the university has over 400 senior instructors and senior
associate professors.
The North Sichuan Medical University is effectively strengthening
increased international cooperation and exchange recently set up a
sister-school relationship with Toledo University in the United States, built
up friendly partnership relationships with Taiwan’s Bu Ying University,
England’s Swansea University, Canada’s Saskatchewan Science and Engineering
College, Japan’s Tokyo Women’s College, and East Asia’s Education Center. Also,
the university is effectively developing qualified teachers training,
scientific research cooperation, and foreign student exchanges, recruiting
overseas students from the United States, Canada, India, Pakistan, and 13 other
nations in order to build up the college undergraduate and graduate programs.
