Grigore T. Popa University
Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy is one of the oldest ancient times of higher education in our country, one founded in 1879, as a Faculty of Medicine, is associated more with two other institutions that complete the area of medical training - the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Dental Medicine. In 1991, the Institute was confronted with the status of the university, receiving the name of Grigore T. Popa. Later, the Faculty of Medical Bioengineering is included, the only one of its kind in Romania. At present university teaching staff has real training and qualification levels are announced by many publications at the national and international level in prestigious media and scientific journals. The University was named to pay tribute to Grigore T. Popa – a Romanian researcher who was the first to pioneer modern clinical investigation. The academic establishment serves over 12,000 students, who are pursuing guest lectures, doctoral degrees, and post-graduate medical training. Grigore T. Popa University is grouped by the Ministry of Education as a high-level examination and schooling college.

The framework of Romanian medical care has been in present since the eighteenth century, with St Spiridon Hospital (1757), in Iaşi, being the most established in the chronicled locale of Moldavia, and one of the biggest in Romania. On 30 November 1859, the Surgery School of Iaşi was introduced. Iaşi University of Medicine and Pharmacy, as one of the most seasoned instructive areas in Romania, was set up in 1879, as the Faculty of Medicine, fused with the University of Iaşi. In 1948, The Medical School was associated with The School of Pharmacy and The School of Dentistry to shape together with The Institute of Medicine.
The role of the University is fundamental in the formation and improvement of graduates and specialists in Medicine, Dental Medicine, Pharmacy, Biomedical Engineering, and Health Care, in the tradition of scientific rigor, demanding the preparation of a competent team of experts at the national and international level. Presently Grigore T. Popa University consists of 4 faculties:
