The Jagiellonian University is one of the oldest institutions for medical studies in Central Europe. It was established in 1364by the Polish King Casimir the Great.

Collegium Medicum Jagiellonian University currently offers many study programs, including 6 years of English-taught MBBS program and several dozens of specializations and doctoral studies. Located in ahistorical area of Krakow, the capital city of Lesser Poland, Collegium Medicum has approximately 4600 students including more than 200 Indian students.

The Jagiellonian University Medical College is the oldest school to study medicine and one of the greatest study abroad options in Poland. The School of Medicine – the largest unit within the Faculty of Medicine – educates both Polish- and English-speaking students, leading to the degree of Doctor of Medicine.

It offers a wide range of courses and specializations including medicine, and pharmacy, and also offers public healthcare services as part of the University's commitment to education and local community development.

The Jagiellonian University Medical College is one of the largest public universities in the country and is located in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. It is 290 kilometers away from Warsaw, so you can reach it by train which takes 2 hours 34 minutes and costs between 20 zł to70 zł.

Jagiellonian University Collegium Medicum is a Medical School, which trains health professionals of the highest qualification level. The school is approved by a number of important international organizations such as the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Poland, NMC, WHO, and many others.

The Jagiellonian University Collegium Medicum offers a study program in medicine and dentistry that is composed of two major aspects: theoretical (medical sciences, basic sciences) and clinical (clinical sciences, surgery).

The university has four major faculties, namely the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Dentistry, and Faculty of Health Sciences and Physical Education. The university offers all the required facilities to its students like a library, auditorium, laboratories, sports rooms, gym, hospital, computer labs, and cafeteria.

The university has well-qualified staff including more than 3600 teachers and 500 professors. They are divided into 3 faculties and a number of smaller departments. The accumulated expertise is enormous and the university has high prestige nationwide, as well as abroad.

Usually, the session starts in the month of September. The university releases the application forms in the month of February or March every year. After successful submission of an application form and application fee, a student will have to face an entrance exam.

Eligibility Criteria - A candidate must have passed their 10+2(Sr. secondary education) with a minimum of 50% marks with PCB (physics, chemistry, and biology) from any recognized board.

Language of instruction - English & Polish

The admission process is based on the marks obtained by a student in the entrance exam which is conducted by the university.

An English proficiency certificate is also required. If you belong to a country where English is the official language or if you have completed higher school in English, then you can use them as proof of your proficiency.

The above condition is not applicable to those who are citizens of English-speaking nations such as the USA, UK, Canada, and Australia.

The minimum age of a candidate should be 17 years before 31December of an academic year.

The University has two of its own dormitories. Each dormitory has two rooms on two occupancies or two people can share the room. The rooms are equipped with beds, wardrobes, and chairs, including a sink and desk. All of them have Internet access, kitchenware, stove, and refrigerator.

Around the dormitories, there are gym and aerobics rooms, separate male and female changing rooms with lockers and a sanitary base, two conference halls, multimedia projector, TV, DVD, storage space, kitchen, and free access toilets, two study rooms, and laundry room with 4 washer-dryer machines and ironing boards, drying room, and bicycle storage room.

One room costs around PLN 800 - PLN 1000 (per month on double occupancy)

The students are advised to apply beforehand in order to avail of the university’s dormitory services. The confirmation of a room allotment will be shared only by the university through email. The availability of rooms is completely based on first come first serve.
