INTRODUCTION
Bath Spa University is a public institution of higher learning and research that was first established as the Bath School of Art in the year 1852 as a result of the Great Exhibition (1851). The Bath College of Higher Education was created in 1975 by the merger of two colleges: Bath Teacher Training College and Bath College of Domestic Science. Bath Academy of Art joined the combined organisation in 1983. The college was given the authority to confer degrees in 1992, and in 1995 its name was changed to Bath Spa University College. The organisation became a university in 2005, the same year it also changed its name to Bath Spa University (August 2005). Around 7500 students attend the institution, of whom 5,787 are enrolled in undergraduate programmes at Bath Spa University and roughly 8% are international students.

CAMPUSES-
NEWTON PARK- There can’t be many campuses that rival Newton Park.  The parkland estate has everything you’d expect from a modern university, as  well as a castle and a lake. All this and it's only four miles from the buzz of  central Bath. Facilities include open-access, technology-enabled study space;  social learning space; bookable group working rooms; a café; and outdoor  amphitheatre.
The campus also has the best specialist digital and studio resources for  teaching in the South West – equal to anything found in top commercial  organisations and broadcast companies.

SION HILL- Situated in the Lansdown district of Bath, Sion Hill campus is  within walking distance of shops, bars and the city centre.  Sion Hill is well known for its buzzing creative atmosphere and friendly  community feel.
The campus houses excellent fashion and textile studios and workshops,  helping you to explore digital and traditional processes in textile print,  embroidery, laser cut and knit.

LOCKSBROOK CAMPUS- Located next to the River Avon in Bath city  centre, the open-plan building has technical workshops surrounded by open,  flexible studio spaces, as well as large, open social areas. An amazingly  inspirational place for you to flourish.
Locksbrook Campus is in a central location in the city, and is virtually next door  to Bath Spa student accommodation on the Lower Bristol Road, reached via a  pedestrian bridge across the River. The riverside cycle path connecting our  Newton Park campus to Bath’s railway and bus stations also borders the site,  making it easily accessible from further afield.
Locksbrook has received both a RIBA South West Award and RIBA National  Award, recognising and celebrating what an amazingly inspirational space it is  to come together to design, make, do, create and learn in.
