The university has eight campuses in which two of them are next to each other, separated by the main road; all of them are in Greater Cairo. The main campus is in Abbassia, Cairo and it houses the Administration and Management at the Saffron Palace, Science Education Development Center, Central Library, Child Hood Center, and the University City (students’ hostel), in addition to the faculties of Computer Science, Science, Law, and Art. The opposite Campus houses the faculty of commerce, Alsun, pharmaceutical Science and Dentistry.
The Women's College has its own campus. Faculty of Specific Education, Faculty of Education, and faculty of Agriculture are each on separate campuses in Abassia, Heliopolis, and Shubra El Kheima, respectively.
The university is providing the best infrastructure for its students and the quality facilities like good and spacious hostels, libraries, modern classrooms, etc. Moreover, the university is providing a healthy and friendly environment on the campus for its students. All the study buildings of the university are equipped with well-furnished classrooms, study halls, seminar rooms. The institute has various other activity centers in the campus like gym, separate sports complex, etc. The University believes in the overall development of every student and thus organizes various personality development programs such as Seminars, Debates, Conferences and Student Exchange programs. Apart from personality development programs, the University organizes various sports and cultural events and also encourages students to partake in these activities.
Ain Shams University currently has more than 201,405 students including more than 5,000international students with over 20,000 academic staff. The University is focused on the advancement of knowledge, ensuring high standard teaching and learning experience, creating innovative thinking and skills of analysis to address the challenges of a changing society, and produce better informed and more mentally adaptable graduates well prepared for work in the 21st century. The University is continuously taking significant steps for improving existing facilities and making new ones.

The University offers a wide selection of computer educational software, access to a large variety of information sources in electronic form including medical websites.
