North Eastern Federal University
North Eastern Federal University was officially established in 2010 April on the basis of M.K. Ammosov Yakutsk State University and the University is having 75 years of history. After that, North Eastern Federal University was named over an outstanding statesman, the son of the Yakut nation and one of the founders of Yakutia and Kyrgyzstan statehood. In the university, there are 5 research stations which named as the Institute of Mathematics, Institute of Applied Ecology of the North, the Institute of Regional Economy of the North, the Institute of A.E. Kulakovsky, and the Institute of Olonkho.
In the Library of the University, there are 15,00,000 books, periodicals, and other items. Moreover, it includes computer stations that make the university library resources available to users throughout the campus. Furthermore, it has access to reach a database of electronic resources which includes both Russian and foreign periodicals (EBSCO, Science, JSTOR, Oxford University Press, etc.). North Eastern Federal University includes Geology Field Station, Museum of Archeology and Ethnography, Botanical garden, and Orangery which is open for staff and students to research and study. Also, the university includes a stadium, a swimming pool, and a social center on the campus. In all university buildings and residence halls, there is free access to Ethernet and Wi-Fi for students and staff.
The total undergraduate student population number of NEFU is about 17,650 and more than 500 students are engaged in postgraduate work. At the university, approximately 1,465 academic staff are currently employed in which 153 hold’s doctor’s degrees, 743 are the candidate of science degree. North Eastern Federal University includes 12 institutes, 5 faculties, 3 university branches in Mirny, Nerungry, and Chukotka, and 5 major research institutes as well. Moreover, 450-degree programs are available for students and university occupies 40 buildings and 12 residence halls which is located in the university campus. Campus accessible and convivial dimension makes students feel at home and also international students are well integrated because it is easy to contact faculty, administration, and other students. Also, there are canteens for students everywhere on the campus which offer different meals at affordable prices.
