Ovidius University of Constanța
The Ovidius University of Constanța is a public higher education institution founded in 1961 and transformed into a comprehensive university in 1990. It has study programs in medical and natural sciences, humanities and engineering, social and economic sciences, law and administrative sciences, theology, and arts. It is accredited according to the Law on Higher Education and recognized by national and international institutions with high confidence. UOC has accreditation for the three cycles for accreditation (accreditation, certification, and qualification), being the first Romanian university to be accredited in all three cycles.
After the fall of the communist regime, and comprises seven faculties, two centers, and one institute organized into six academic districts. Ovidius University has 13 faculties with over 40 departments and four institutes, an economic high school, a research institute with a space flight department, three colleges, a post-university level institution, and over 17 000 students.
