European University, Georgia

European University, Georgia is an authorized higher education institution with the status of teaching MBBS as per the rules established by law and issue a certificate of qualification which is recognized by MCI and WHO. European University, gained the status of a teaching university for a period of 5 years by the decision of the Board of Authorization of Education Institutions on January 21, 2011 and by 2012, university was implanted 3 educational programs which include the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, the Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy and the Master's Degree Program in Health Management. The marginal number of students was 246 students. 


In European University 4 faculties operate which includes Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Business and Technology, Faculty of Law, Humanities and Social Sciences,  and Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Students who have 50% marks and above in Physics, chemistry, Biology, and English are eligible to apply for MBBS studies at this university. For MBBS, they should be over 17 years of age according to the Medical Council of India (MCI) guidelines. NEET Qualifying Scorecard is mandatory for MBBS.


On January 18, 2016, the University of Europe has regained the status of teaching university for a period 5 years until 2021 and it is by the decision of the Board of Authorization of Higher Education Institutions. Higher education institutions, who are in the authorization of the Council of 13 December 2016, university students determine the maximum number of students in 1500 as per decision no 30 and the authorization of the Council of Higher Education Institutions 2019 of July 26, European university students determine the maximum number of 3000 students as per decision no 28. 


European University in Georgia implements 14 educational programs which include educational programs of two levels of higher education are bachelors, masters, one level and one-year teaching training. As per the mission, vision and values, European University define some strategic priorities for the next seven years which includes developing the brand of the university and raising social responsibility; development of all three levels of higher education programs; improving the quality of planning and implementation of the learning process, wide introduction of innovative teaching-learning and assessment methods; promoting and strengthening scientific research activities; development of student services and environment; improving the efficiency of university resource management and quality assurance. According to the vision application by 2025, the European University is an open academic space that develops modern, well-equipped, comfortable and adapted educational, scientific and work infrastructure, maintains financial sustainability, attracts and effectively maintains highly qualified human resources, promotes their professional development and self-realization. Moreover, it also encourages academic and student mobility through active involvement in the process of internationalization. 

COURSE & ELIGIBILITY

  • Students who have 50% marks and above in Physics, chemistry, biology, and English are eligible to apply for MBBS studies at this university. They should be over 17 years of age according to the MCI guidelines.
  • Admission will be on the basis of Interview on skype which conducts by the university
  • NEET Cut-Off (2022):-  117 marks for general category, 93 for reserved category.

SCHOLARSHIP

Academic and nominative scholarships, as well as scholarships for successful entrants/Master’s
students are available at the university and they facilitate the increase of student motivation and
creation of competitive academic environment.
Academic scholarship can be gained by students per semester on the basis of achieved outcomes and is valid for one semester. The semester scholarship cannot exceed 1125 GEL.


Criteria for awarding academic scholarships: academic performance; active participation in student activities and contribution to the development of the university; engagement in academic scientific activities. 3 students with the best academic performance at the faculty – are fully funded with semester tuition fee (100%); students with the 4th - 10th results at the faculty – are partially funded with semester tuition fee (50%); students with the 11th - 20th results at the faculty – are funded with semester tuition fee -20%; In case of gaining an academic scholarship by the student who receives a state grant, the existing difference will be transferred in his/her bank account.



Nominative scholarships are the ones of a prominent scientist or the person who greatly contributed to the university, which are awarded on the basis of the outcomes in the specific direction. Currently, Ivane Beritashvili Scholarship is offered by the university and a student with the top results in Physiology course is awarded the scholarship (2250 GEL).
Scholarships for successful entrants is available for a student of undergraduate studies, having a finished secondary school with Gold or Silver Medal. Scholarships for successful entrants: for gold medal holder- funding 20% of tuition fee; for silver medal holder – funding 10% of tuition fee; a scholarship is maintained in the case is a student’s GPA is 3.0 or more at every academic semester.



Students of postgraduate studies, having graduated from the educational program of the first cycle with GPA 3,5 or more shall be awarded a scholarship – funding 50 % of the tuition fee during the first and the second academic year.



Besides scholarships, single prizes are awarded to the student, representing the university internationally or locally. In addition, other incentives are also available at the university which places emphasis on improving student life.



Regulation for awarding successful students with scholarships, single prizes and other kinds of incentive is approved with the decree issued by Chancellor.

• In case account is opened less than 6 months then letter from bank manager stating
when the account was opened.

• 6 months original bank statement with Bank Stamp on it.
• Minimum balance not less than Rs. 2.5 Lakhs.
➢ No objection letter/ Sponsorship Affidavit on a Rs. 100 stamp paper (Original).
➢ Minor affidavit on Rs. 10 Stamp Paper from Father and Mother if Student is below 18 years
old.
➢ Student Pan Card Copy ( For Dollar exchange & Forex Card).

OTHER FACILITIES

Library: - The university has a library with a large collection of books, periodicals, and journals. The library, located in both buildings of the university, is open every day, except Sundays, from 10:00 to 20:00.

Sports: - The institute has both indoor and outdoor sports facilities in the campus like table tennis, basketball, volleyball, swimming etc.

Labs: - The institute has a well-equipped lab in the campus with modern equipment and tools.

Computer lab: - The institute has a well-equipped computer lab on the campus with the latest computer machines and tools.

Gym: - The institute has a gym on the campus with modern machines and tools like dumbbells, treadmill.

HOSTEL

The university has a hostel in which they are providing a well-furnished room with all the necessary amenities like bed, chair, mattress, air-conditioner, water heater, etc. 

Some of the other important facts about the hostel are: -

  • University distance from Hostel: - The distance between the university and hostel is about 200-300 meters.
  • Room occupancy info: - The hostels are available in only 2-3 sharing occupancies in rooms. Students can choose one of them based on their needs, requirement, budget, and availability.
  • Basic Amenities: - All the rooms are well-furnished and centrally air-conditioned with all the necessary amenities like a bed, bed sheets, mattress, pillow, study table, etc. Moreover, there is a common study room is there in every hostel.
  • Laundry room info: - Every room is having 1 washing machine in the room for the laundry.
  • Kitchen info: - There is a common kitchen on every floor of the hostel, where students can cook their meals whenever they want to do.
  • Washroom and Toilet info: - Every room is having an attached washroom and toilet.
  • Boy and Girl Division info: - Boys and girls’ hostels are separate.
  • Security info: - All the hostels are very safe and secure as they have security cameras in every hostel for the student's safety. Security staff is always there for the security of the students. There is a checkpoint in front of the entry door of the hostel, students cannot enter or exit without showing their ID cards. Entry and exit id prohibited after 12:00 PM.
  • Indian Mess availability info: - Indian mess (Vegetarian and non-vegetarian) is available in the hostel. Moreover, students can also cook their meals in the kitchen on their own.
